BIRD-lovers turned up in their hundreds to the Leigh Ornithological Society open day at Leigh Library.
The event, which took place on January 30, was attended by MP for Leigh Andy Burnham and Mayor of the borough Cllr Susan Loudon as well as many conservation groups, birders and members of the public.
Organiser Martyn Jones said: βIt went much better than we expected and we had more than 200 people at the event.
"The club was started at the library, so it is our spiritual home and it was great to be there.
"Our aim was to get the public involved and hopefully get into birding.β
