LOWTON has a new string to its bow with a ukulele club having been formed.
The club meets at Lowton Labour Club on Newton Road from 7.30pm on the last Friday of every month.
The club's Jim Byrne said: “Beginners are welcome, even if they have never picked up a ukulele before but want to learn.
“Ukulele playing is fun – it is an instrument that never fails to make people smile, both young and old alike.”
There is a £25 annual membership fee and the next meeting will be on May 30.
