FOLK legend Bram Taylor raised the roof with classic tunes and his unique blend of jokes and funny stories as a memorial concert for the former vicar of Christ Church Pennington raised around £1,000.
He was among the friends and family of the late Rev Peter Leakey who gathered for an informal evening of music and entertainment at St John's Church in Mosley Common.
Rev Leakey used to attend the church with his wife Diane following his retirement.
The money raised will be added to the Mosley Common church's building fund.
Rev Jan Harney and her husband Garry opened the show with a mixture of powerful ballads before having the audience chuckling to music hall favourites.
Veteran singer-songwriter Bob Fraser, Rev Leakey's brother-in-law, performed with his band, gently rocking the church with their recently written songs.
Everyone, including the team at St John's Church, gave their time for free.
