A MUM-of-two is holding a host of fundraising events to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity throughout August.

Café owner Donna Turner, 36 will be holding the events in her café Donna’s Deli on Firs Lane, Leigh to raise money for those in the armed forces as well as hosting a special fun day at Lowton Labour Club on Ballantyne Way on August 28.

She said: “We do fundraising events every year usually for cancer research but this year I decided to support the Help for Heroes charity after learning what they do for people who have been injured while serving.

“I think what they do is amazing and I want to raise as much as I can to give back to those who fight hard to protect not just us but other people in other countries as well.”

The family fun day will have stalls, activities and cakes available for visitors as well as representatives from Help for Heroes making a speech.

Other events in the café will include a man vs food challenge and raffles which will take place throughout the month.

Donna added: “Any support we can get would be brilliant and funds will go directly to the charity”
