Manchester Airport was hit by a nationwide issue affecting eGates.
The UK Border Force had been experiencing problems at numerous airports.
Manchester Airport released a statement on this late last night.
It said: "UK Border Force is experiencing nationwide issues affecting eGates at a number of airports, including Manchester.
"Our team are supporting UK Border Force staff to minimise disruption to passengers while they fix the problem.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and thank you for your patience and understanding."
The Home Office has confirmed a “nationwide issue” with Border Force e-gates that caused significant disruption at airports across the country has been resolved.
