GIVEN that Moran was Leigh’s stand-out player it’s ironic that he wasn’t involved in the team’s best attacking moment.
With a slender two points advantage Leigh looked vulnerable until Lee Marsh sent full-back Ian Mort haring for the line.
Mort was cut down just short but young replacement prop Dale Cunniffe settled Leigh’s nerves by plunging in for a match-clinching score.
