FROM a defensive point of view I was quite happy with the performance.

We showed the steel and determination and commitment on defence that we needed to win a tight game like that.

We tailored the game to play wet-weather football but I think we did it a bit too much and became far too one-dimensional with our go-forward. There was far too much one-out rugby.

I’ve seen enough enthusiasm and determination over the past two games to prove to me that once we get all the aspects of our play right then we’ll be a force to be reckoned with in this division.

I’d have been more worried had we gone 12 points down at the end of the game rather that at the start but we showed good character to come back and I felt we finished each half the stronger and fitter.

Dennis Moran was exceptional for us today. He was probably the one player who showed any consistent quality on attack. But to be truly effective he needs a lot better support from those around him and that’s an area we’ve got to work on in training. I think our attack went backwards a little bit today from what we achieved against Featherstone but with more hard work we’ll soon fix that up.
