I WAS pleased with many of the aspects of our team’s performance but I was a bit disappointed with our ball control at times. I think that cost us the opportunity to apply more pressure and come up with even more scores.

Both Mark (Aston) and I were totally bemused by some of the referee’s decisions but we’ll leave that up to the RFL to sort out. It led to frustration from both sets of player but we had the patience to rise above that and win well in the end.

Sheffield are a really hard side to play against but I don’t think the final scoreline reflected just how much we dominated the game. I don’t think they deserved 22 points.

I was particularly pleased with the pack as a whole. They went forward aggressively and laid the platform for the backs to put on some good moves.

On the back of that it allowed Ian Watson to dominate the game. Ian’s playing very well for us at the moment and I think it’s an indication of just how well he is playing by the attention opposing teams are giving him. Under that sort of pressure it’s an indication of how well he’s going at the moment that he can still come up with a top game.
