THERE’S no escaping the fact that Halifax totally dominated the first half.
We were reduced to individual efforts – and I can’t fault the efforts of the players but when you are playing thirteen men and you are trying as one individual or successive individuals trying with no teamwork at all then you are going to be up against it.
We talked about that at half time and fortunately we went out and played like a team in the second half and came within a whisker of getting back at them. Only a bit of a fluke try, although it was good play by them took the game away from us again. I’d say that Graham Holroyd’s kicking game won the day for them.
We’ve got to learn the lesson that we’ve got to play as a team from the off.
There’s a bit of a challenge to our half backs because I think theirs dominated. You can’t afford to give any side the sort of lead we gave Halifax, and then hope to come back. It proved too big a mountain to climb.
