“I’m pleased we were on the right end of a 74-6 scoreline.

“All credit to my players, they certainly did the job in defence as well as with the ball.

“It’s always been a big thing with me and teams that I’ve coached, I like to think we’ve no one gamebreaker, no one try scorer.

I’d like to think we can offer a threat right across the line and on the evidence of today we are doing that already. That’s nice to see “Jamie Durbin was always busy and in a game like that where you get on top, he’ll get his hands on the ball regularly and fortunately he used it well and was there on the spot to receive the last pass or kick and he’ll prove a good acquisition.

“I’m taking my hat off to London Skolars, they stuck to their task throughout.

“We’ve not played a pre-season game where we’ve won like that and it was good from that point of view and good from a competition point of view.

“I think points difference will prove crucial at some stage. That will stand us in good stead.

“Overall I was happy with what everyone did from one to seventeen but most notably for Danny Meekin, this was his first competitive game in the first team and it was a good game for him to play.”
