It was an uninspiring performance from us to say the least, but I’ve got to temper that with the fact that it was the third game in eight days.

I set the team the target of winning two out of three during the week and I think we’ve done better than that having picked up a bonus point on Wednesday night.

I’m not too disappointed. We got the win under our belts.

The performance is maybe for me to worry about but I’ve been thanking the lads for their efforts.

They are honest enough to know that the way that we played today, they can’t do it in week to week football from now on.

I think the score flattered ourselves in the first half because a lot of the things we reproduced in that second half, we did in the first.

Chris Hill was one of the players I reserved special thanks for.

He’s had a really big week. He’s still recovering from an injury and an operation and to play like he has done in this last eight days, it’s a big effort from him.

I thought Anthony Rourke on debut went really well. I thought in the first half when he went on it signified our best period in the game really on reflection.

He showed the urgency that I want from the whole squad.

He got quick play the balls, got me good yards and got a few offloads and generally did his work on defence.

On a day like that, that is what you need from the bulk of your squad. I was really pleased with his efforts.
