I’m really pleased and obviously very proud.

I thought the players deserved the win for their efforts.

I think it was like a Super League game.

Both sides put a lot into the game and it would have been a tragedy if we’d come out of it with nothing. To come out of it with a win – well the feeling is great!

It wasn’t as expansive as a normal game in this division.

There is more football played generally in this division but with the rain and the conditions this wasn’t a day for that.

They weren’t conducive to throwing the ball around and I think both teams slugged it out up the middle a bit and only went to the fringes when they had the opportunity.

I didn’t have a great view of Ian Mort’s try from the dug out but I’m just thankful that he got it down.

I always thought it would come but you wait for an error or a decision going in your favour.

Obviously we got that error and that provided us with the field position from where we scored the try.

It wasn’t really a game where someone would score a try from 60 metres.

It had to be scored from within their quarter, which again is similar to Super League.

I’ve got to pay full credit to my forwards.

I thought they worked really well as they did really at Wakefield last week but we were on the back end of a good hiding.

The forwards will feel quite rightly that they got their rewards.

In the last 15 minutes Chris Hill got a knock to the head and he should have really come off.

He shook it off and did really well. I’m hard pressed to pick a forward out that wasn’t worthy of praise.

Armitstead did really well. I thought we were using him too much before half time and the players weren’t taking that responsibility of getting the team forward and getting offloads out but fortunately in the second half they all took that responsibility on.
