ASTLEY and Tyldesley could not stop Stockport racing to victory in round four of the Northern Fours but enjoyed success in the Junior League series at Gin Pit on Sunday.

Stockport’s victory saw them take the lead at the top of the league table, but they were pushed all the way by Astley and Tyldesley who put in a great display of gutsy riding.

Reece Pollitt was in top form for Astley and Tyldesley and he lost only once, with good solid support from the rest of the team.

A&T scorers: Reece Pollitt 19, Joe Allen 15, Ciaran Collins 11, Mark Mulvey 10, Max Evans 6.

Astley and Tyldesley took the overall win in the Junior League match to reduce Bury's lead in the table to two points.

A&T's Ben Dickinson dropped only one point in the under 10s match, with double-figure scores from Charlie Burgess, Emily Burgess and Jack Murray.

A&T's Max Evans joint top-scored in the under 13s match with 15 points, with Matt Snell losing twice to Evans.

A&T's Reece Pollitt raced unbeaten in the under 16s category, while Mark Graham joint top scored with 15 points in the Division Two riders category.

A&T scorers: Reece Pollitt 16, Ben Dickinson 15, Max Evans 15, Mark Graham 15, Matt Snell 14, Charlie Burgess 12, Emily Burgess 12, Jack Murray 11, Charlie Dickinson 9, Ciaran Collins 8, Ryan Fallon 7, Finlay Hodson 4, Kieran Fallon 4.

The next race meeting at Gin Pit is on Tuesday, August 5 when A&T host the fourth and final round of their Go-Ride Grand Prix series.

The entry level event is for under 16s who fancy trying a different form of cycle racing.
