Leigh 57 Heaton Moor 10
LEIGH enjoyed a runaway victory on Saturday despite a spirited response from Heaton Moor.
The Leigh pack gave their opposite numbers a torrid 80 minutes and Ben Sutton was first on the score sheet when he barged over.
Skipper Ian Woods followed wIth a try converted by Rob Drake.
Following a series of strong scrummaging the hosts ran out of front row players, resulting in uncontested scrums for the remainder.
It did not stop Leigh opening a 31-point lead, with Jimmy Wilkinson, Ryan McInstry and Olly Shepherd all crossing.
Moor managed a reply after the break, but this stung Leigh into a purple patch with Rob Drake, McInstry and Wilkinson going over in a six-minute spell.
It took until 78 minutes for Leigh to score again, when Keiron Duffy rounded off an emphatic win.
