Leigh 66 Whitehaven 7
LEIGH ran in 10 tries on their way to romping visitors Whitehaven on Saturday.
The breakthrough came after 10 minutes, with the in-form Robinson crossing and Rob Drake converting.
Leigh’s scrum was proving superior and it was not long until Graham Robinson added another converted score, while Ross Shepherd also put his name on the scoresheet among a couple of Leigh penalties.
Shepherd added his second try shortly after the break, before scrum half Robinson set up Dave Woods for a simple score and a further seven points.
Whitehaven hit back with a converted effort, but Adam Dyson then put in a determined run on the left to further Leigh’s advantage.
There was still time for a Jimmy Wilkinson brace and Ryan McKinstry try late on.
