UMYLA Hanley continued his remarkable scoring form on the Leigh Leopards wing.

Hanley grabbed his second hat-trick in eight days - but this time it was in vain.

His tries could not make the difference in the Good Friday game at Salford Red Devils with the hosts coming out on top in a nine-try Rivals Round thriller.

It does mean that Hanley takes his tally to eight tries in the four games since the former Wigan player came into Adrian Lam's side as a replacement for the injured flankman Tom Briscoe.

“I worked a lot with Umyla,” says Wigan coach Matty Peet ahead of the derby.

“I am pleased he is showing what he is capable of.

“I always knew he had that ability and it is good to see a player delivering on his potential.

“It is not that it has taken him any longer than expected. Sometimes, it is just about the stars aligning in terms of the players in front of you and your own fitness and form.”
