FOLLOWING the resignation of Nigel Farage as the leader of UKIP, the party is holding a leadership election.
The Leigh branch of UKIP has unanimously come out in support of north west MEP Steven Woolfe to be the new party leader.
He was born and brought up in the Moss Side area of Manchester and pursued a career in law, becoming a barrister.
Jayson Lomax-Hargreaves, chairman of the Leigh branch, that ‘Steven is an intelligent man with excellent communication skills who has all the leadership skills required’.
The winner of the election will be announced in September.
